Distinct Wedding Films for One-of-a-kind Couples
Maddy and Jake, congrats! Youβre getting married with your closest family and friends in Minnesota next year. I was fortunate enough to meet you guys in Belize when I was capturing Melina's wedding, and I really appreciate you guys reaching out to me to do the same for you. A few notes I've been able to pick up on:
-"Timing is key". With Jake's hockey schedule, you wanted to find a time that you know you won't have to stress over if the Knights make another big postseason run.
-"Family and location is important": Maddy, I'm assuming that family is super important to you if you're having the wedding in your home state of Minnesota. Jake, while family is obviously very important to you as well, they're already used to traveling to destinations for weddings haha!
-"The fit as a couple and vendor" - Naturally, I got to meet and film a wedding with you guys last year, and I had great conversations when we had the chance to talk. Looking forward to a continued friendship!
I'm all ears to anything stylistically you want for your film as well. I naturally tend to shoot a more documentary styled approach, where I'm capturing what's happening in front of me rather than directing. It's super important for whoever you hire on your vendor team to understand that how you want your day to go matters most, so that it makes for the best experience possible for you guys.
the day goes by in a flash, and i know you want to soak it all in. my approach is to document rather than direct.

Whereas some companies may just treat you like a number more than a name, I really want to be more like a friend to you than just a vendor.
You'll be hanging out with me more of the wedding day than your own spouse, which sounds crazy when I say it but it's actually the truth. And I don't mean to brag, but I'm a pretty solid hang.
more than a vendor
Others overload their calendars, packing weddings into every available weekend. Yeah, no thanks.
Due to the personal nature of filmmaking, I really make an effort to get to invest into my couples prior to the wedding day. Therefore, I take on a limited number of clients per year.
not a volume brand
Whereas most vendors only offer digital footage, I give the option for Super 8 footage to be added on, as a way to weave together a unique combination of film and digital video for your wedding film. I also welcome any phone videos you may want to share with me to be included into your film.

A lot of competitors have a template and system in place for editing. They rinse and repeat poses and storylines for quick turnaround.

Other filmmakers prioritize the needs of the film over the desires of the couple. With my signature documentary style, I never pull my couples away from the action. So, I'll document each aspect of your day with creativity, attention to detail, and artistry.
